Plans - Sacha Horton

I can see plans in my mind’s eye; they are marching down the road in a straight line. The pace is steady and determined, and they hold their heads up high. There is a strong captain leading the way, her name is Strategy and she is clear with her orders and control, there is no way for plans to escape.

And yet, how soft do some plans get, at the knees first, a gentle wobble and then some disrupted rhythm for a next plan. Another plan might twist an ankle and before you know it there’s a puddle of plans falling over each other resembling a troupe of cyclists crashing down the hill like I once saw on TV with the Tour de France.

Hang on; is that a plan rolling over? Can I see that plan gently rubbing another plan’s shoulders? Oh my, we have a tantrum going on for Strategy, feet stomping, fists raised up in the air, but she fades into the background on her empty solo parade, the road disappears at the horizon…and right here, in front of me, all I can see is a swirling, colorful pool, it smells of sweet potential and creative opportunities. There are no sharp edges, no pressure, but it is just a bubbling flow of liquid exciting ideas to dip my toes into.
